dzongkhag Definition

Dzongkhag is a traditional administrative unit of the Kingdom of Bhutan. It is usually translated as 'district' or 'province' and is the smallest unit of governmental administration in the country. Each dzongkhag is administered by a Hermit Monastery and has its own local government.
